  • How often do HVAC filters need to be changed?

How often filters need to be changed will largely depend on how clean the home is and the quality of the filters purchased. More expensive ones may be designed to filter air longer.

Filters typically last anywhere from three to six months, according to our technicians. However, we recommend that filters be changed every month unless you know that your filter is still clean and is capable of lasting longer.

  • Do bigger air conditioning units perform better?

The size of an air conditioning unit will depend on the size of the home. As long as your unit's size is proportionate to that of your home, it will not be outperformed by a smaller or larger system.

It's important to note that an air conditioning unit's performance can be affected by the home's age, windows, level of insulation, number of occupants, and so on. Scheduling air conditioner repair or maintenance work will benefit the quality of your home's air conditioning.

  • If I have an older system, can I save money by just replacing the outdoor unit?

Yes. Most times, it makes the most economical sense to replace the entire system at once, as the furnace and AC unit are likely the same age and have about the same life expectancy. It also costs more, in the long run, to replace a system in two separate jobs.

  • What are the advantages of high-efficiency air filters?

A high-efficiency particulate air filter can remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns. In theory, the greater face area of HEPA filters allows them to capture more.

According to a survey conducted by ConsumerAffairs, air conditioner repairs were the second-most common repair in the United States in 2019, with 23.67% of respondents reporting that they had their air conditioning system fixed or replaced. • How often should I have my air conditioning unit serviced?

You should make sure your air conditioning unit is serviced at least once a year. We recommend you schedule service in the spring, before the peak cooling season. This way, you won't find your home needing emergency AC repair during the hottest season of the year.

AC performance can be dramatically impacted by dust, pollen, grass clippings, and cottonwood. Dirty coils can decrease air flow, increase refrigerant pressure drops, cause warmer air to be blown into your home, and decrease the life of your compressor.

  • What are some tips for lowering my energy costs?

Investing in a new, more energy-efficient HVAC system is a great way to lower your energy costs. Hiring professional air conditioner repair services will also make sure that your system isn't overworking itself and using excessive amounts of your home's energy.

Here are a few more ways to lower your energy costs:

    • Raise your thermostat a couple of degrees in the summer or lower it slightly in the winter
    • Maintain your HVAC system
    • Change your filters consistently
    • Keep your blinds closed
    • Use ceiling fans
    • Replace your light bulbs when necessary
    • Check the insulation in your attic
  • What are some efficient ways I could keep my home cool?

    • Use a dehumidifier
    • Get LED light bulbs
